Wrestling is far from a dying breed. I actually believe that it is becoming more popular, especially with all these new t.v. deals. My question is, do you think WWE is dying? A lot of employees have stated their distain for WWE, and with better programs out there like NJPW and Lucha Underground, is WWE going to fall? Or do you think it will become better when Hunter takes over.
No, I don’t think WWE is dying, in fact it is far from that, but the WWE certainly isn’t doing much to develop and cater to more people – even with NXT around. WWE needs to find something that is relevant to everyone, something like the Stone Cold character during the Attitude Era – this is how they will keep viewers entertained and sticking with them throughout the years.
WWE is surely going to be “better” when Vince is gone. History has shown us that Hunter knows how to book a great show (NXT). When Vince is gone, I think you can expect an NXT type show every week with Raw. Triple H is nothing like his father-in-law, he know what really is “best for business”. He won’t hold anything back when it comes to booking, just like what he has shown in NXT.
So, no it is not a dying spectacle. Wrestling will continue to be passed down through generations. I would expect to still see it on TV in 50 years just like in the past.
Do you think Enzo Amore is holding Colin Cassady back? Cass has the skill and charisma to be a main event talent, but now he’s stuck with Enzo.
I don’t think that anyone is holding anybody back. Personally, I like both of these guys. I can see why Amore can be seen as slightly less ‘talented’ than his counterpart but saying that he is holding Cass back would be a stretch. If WWE feels like Enzo is holding back Cassady then surely they will mix things up a bit, but in speaking to one of my sources, they said that this is just the beginning of the feud and that you can expect much more from these two. But in terms of Enzo holding Colin Cassady back, that isn’t happening and that will not happen throughout the feud.
Do you think TNA should consider having more live TNA Impact Wrestling, instead of recording their shows almost all the time?
Obviously, from what we have heard, there are currently some financial issues within TNA. Filming live TV should not be one of their priorities right now because of the financial costs that come with it. As long as the product they deliver every week is good, then I am fine with TNA taping way ahead of time. Maybe in the future they can consider taping it live, but that shouldn’t be their priority, Esp now.
