Prime Time Players Number 1 Contenders
On Smackdown, Titus O’Neil and Darren Young win a Triple Threat Match over The Ascension and Lucha Dragons to become the new number one contenders. After a match that got some solid television time, PTP showcased why they are deserving of this opportunity.
I never understood the split of Prime Time Players because they never reached the highest of heights in the tag division. They have never become champions and were never a team that carried the rest. I felt like it was a HUGE mistake and it is showing now. They have a simple, yet effective gimmick. It is funny that this push happens when Batista rants about Titus not getting the love he deserves. With Titus being a role model for every father, it only makes sense for WWE to push them. It is a good feeling knowing that a talented guy who has come leaps and bounds since NXT get this opportunity.
Will they win at Money in the Bank? I do not think, especially since it is a quick turnaround. I do not think this is a one-off feud though. There is longevity here and a great opportunity to build up a face tag team while Jimmy and Jey get some much needed rest.
Ryback defeated Stardust
Nothing too much to note here aside from a quick squash from the WWE Intercontinental Champion. Ryback looks really good with the title, but they cannot simply book him like this, like they did years ago. He got over again because he has shown improvements in the ring. Will it be good or bad that he faces Big Show? Won’t that limit him getting better in the ring? Or, will WWE give The Miz a chance and hopefully make it a Triple Threat feud?
