Isenberg Reacts: WWE TLC

Steel Stairs Match

wwe tlcThe battle of giants take place in the first ever “Stairs Match.” Big Show and Rowan exchange the big blows, keeping the match at a slower and more strong pace. Rowan hits him a few times but Show whips him into the steps in the corner, which allows Show to wedge some steps in the corner before smashing Rowan’s head into it. Show heads outside and shoulder tackles Rowan into the wall of stairs.

Erick Rowan continues to battle by hitting the stairs into Big Show’s face. Rowan, in complete control, gets taken back when Big Show hits some clotheslines and then hits him with a chokeslam onto a set of steps.

Big Show hits a Knockout Punch and then uses the steps to finally keep Big Red down.

Erick Rowan looked strong and looked pretty good, considering the fact that he was in a match with someone bigger and slower than him. I didn’t expect too much out of this match and had a feeling that WWE would have Erick Rowan lose.

Many people wanted to see the young guy get over, but this tells you all you need to know. If they thought he was a big deal, Rowan wins this match. He is still very young and green being by himself. Give credit to him, but I cannot remember the last time that Big Show put on a great match.

The Return of Roman Reigns

John Cena picked up a victory over Seth Rollins in a Tables Match. Throughout the match, Mercury and Noble move the table over and over again from Cena. Cena hits a suplex and a back body drop before Rollins is able to hit Cena with a big kick. Rollins slams him on the table and goes for a Curb Stomp off the turnbuckles, but Cena avoids it and hits an AA through the table.

The match should be over, but the ref is still knocked out. Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble run back in and attack Cena. They try to set him up for a Triple Powerbomb, but Cena throws some punches and breaks free. John Cena shows his strength by hitting an AA onto J and J Security. The guys battle back and both men crash through a table. The referees are arguing about who is actually the winner. They end up restarting the match.

Rollins immediately hits Cena and takes the commentary table apart. John Cena tries to hit Rollins and crash through the table, but it does not break. Cena goes for it again but Rollins avoids it. Here comes Big Show and he attacks Cena. We then hear the sound of Shield Music and out comes Roman Reigns.

Reigns hits Big Show with a Superman Punch and a Spear. He then knocks out Rollins, while Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment through the table. Cena wins and will face Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble.

A few things bothered me about this match. First off, Seth Rollins looks like such a wuss when he has two cruiserweights basically helping him throughout the match. I want Rollins to prove to everyone that he belongs in main events because he can hold his own. Second, Big Show wins and should be feeling the pain of his match, but he comes back and tries to screw Cena. For what? Didn’t he say he made a mistake in trying to turn his back on Team Cena?

Overall, Roman Reigns is the biggest part of this match. His return is HUGE for WWE right now. He is the odds on favorite to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. Is that big enough for WWE? I almost feel that it could be TOO soon for him, but it really could be now or never for him to be champion. WWE needs to build new stars and needs to put their eggs in someone’s basket. He is the best choice right now. Even though I think Ambrose and Rollins are slightly better overall, they can’t be taken seriously when put up against Brock Lesnar.
