Title This: WWE Raw Reaction “Season Premiere Delivers Two Solid Hours”

Steel Cage Match Kicks off Raw

raw reactionRaw Reaction begins with the final chapter in a book that not been written very well. Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt start off with Jericho hitting a dropkick and working on Wyatt. Wyatt slowly beats down Jericho in the corner. Jericho heads to the top to try and escape. He hits a flying forearm and Wyatt tosses him into the cage. Bray hits a big splash into Jericho and the cage before Raw heads to a break.

Back from break and Wyatt tries to escape. Jericho gets Bray on his shoulders and his an electric chair. Jericho and Wyatt exchange chops and Chris hits a bulldog. He hits the Lionsault and tries to lock in the Walls of Jericho. Wyatt flips him over and then he throws Wyatt into the steel. Both men are climbing the cage and exchange blows. Wyatt takes control with a superplex. Jericho grabs Wyatt before he can escape through the door. Jericho gets planted with a side suplex. Wyatt launches Jericho, but he climbs up the cage.  Jericho hits a frankensteiner off the ropes. As Jericho is about to escape, he stops and eyes up Bray. Jericho hits an impressive cross body from the top of the cage. Both men are clawing to crawl out the door. Wyatt punches his knee and escapes.

The best of their three matches happen on the season premiere of Raw. The steel cage match had intense and physical spots, such as the splash into the steel. You had the slow and methodical story being told in the ring, as well as the spot of the match with a cross body from the top rope, which had Jericho crush Bray. Bray struggled and got out of the ring first, which was surprising to me. Jericho needed to be written off of television, so I expected something during the match. After, Bray hit Sister Abigail and begins to assault Y2J. Even though the feud could have been a million times better, at least the final match held up in a very strong way.

Dolph Ziggler Exposes The Miz

Dolph Ziggler comes out and talks about how celebrities photos were hacked. He shows the world two photos of The Miz shaving his chest. Out comes The Miz, who is extremely upset that his privacy was invaded. He shows a third photo of Sandow spray tanning The Miz’s backside. Sandow gets in the ring and gets a dropkick from Ziggler. Ziggler yells at Miz and tells him to make a move. The former IC Champ slowly backs from the ring.

I liked how WWE tried to imply that The Miz was a Hollywood movie star. I thought this segment was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I cannot complain because WWE is finally giving the Intercontinental Championship storyline some much needed exposure. The mid card is finally getting some meaning and depth in their storylines.
