#8 – Iron Man Match
I’m not super high on this idea for SummerSlam, but it’s still better than a Lumberjack Match. Don’t get me wrong – two guys going at it for 30 or 60 minutes on PPV is a great idea, and with Ambrose and Rollins it could produce a 5-star classic. But it’s a bit too much for their first one-on-one encounter. These guys have actually never locked up against each other before in singles action, so having them go the distance might be rushing into things too quickly, despite the program going on for two months now without a single match. An Iron Man Match would be good though, and I’d consider it for an edition of Monday Night Raw in a few months, or another PPV that can lose an hour and still profit.
#7 – Falls Count Anywhere
So here’s an idea… If Dean Ambrose doesn’t want Seth Rollins to run away during their match, why not just tweak the stipulation so Dean can chase him down, beat the living hell out of him backstage, in the crowd, in the parking lot, and then pin him wherever he damn well pleases? This brings weapons into play, and potential fun spots involving cars, production equipment, and who knows what else they can come up with. Wrestlers have to be careful not to spend too much time backstage, as the live crowd will begin to turn on the match and effect the overall product, but Rollins and Ambrose are smart enough to know how to work a brawl effectively.
