The Shield defeated Evolution
Review:
All of the men pair off. Rollins hits a nice move to the outside and they are all over the arena. Batista is taken down by Reigns and Ambrose is sent over the barricade. Control is back and Rollins works onto Batista's head. Rollins gets tossed into the corner and Orton gets in the ring. Triple H and Roman Reigns square off in the ring and Reigns wins the strength battle. Reigns hits a massive clothesline and works on the arm of Triple H. Rollins hits a splash into the corner and hits a nice snap suplex 3 times. Batista and Ambrose get rolling in the ring. The heels are in control and quick tags keep them fresh.
Ambrose finally gets the hot tag after about four minutes of beatings. Reigns and Batista work back and forth with one another. Reigns sprints and knocks down Batista. Reigns clear the ring and hits a running kick to Batista on the ropes. Reigns hits a Superman Punch and Orton breaks up the elimination. The fight is spilled to the outside. Rollins gets hit in the head with a metal weapon in mid air. Reigns gets Triple Powerbombed through the announce table. They mock The Shield and Ambrose takes out Evolution. Rollins monkey flips to the outside as well. They all head to the top of the stage.
A chair gets involved and Ambrose gets hit with a backbreaker on it. Triple H hits a Pedigree on Rollins onto a chair. Evolution surrounds Reigns and he gets a spinebuster from Batista. Reigns is placed on steps and they all strike him with Kendo Sticks. Rollins flew from the tron onto Evolution. Reigns speared Batista and Batista is gone. (20 minutes into the match) RKO onto Rollins and Reigns makes the save. Ambrose plants Orton onto a chair and Triple H is all by himself. Triple H gets a sledgehammer and Rollins knees him in the face. Reigns hits a Spear and The Shield sweep Evolution.
Reaction:
This match had everything, but different than Cena vs. Wyatt. They went inside and outside, dominated everyone and Evolution tried to make a statement. So many moves and so many big spots carried this match. It was uncomfortable at times to see Reigns be caned over and over again. The highlights of the matches included everyone getting a big spot. Batista looked athletic and quick. Rollins made some impressive leaps, including the one from the top of the tron. I find it odd that The Shield get dominated for 10 minutes and then sweep Evolution. They should have won and needed to win. I wanted to see a swerve, but logical booking is sometimes the easiest and best route right now.

WWE Payback had excellent matches, strong young talent and even more interesting developments for the next few months. The score would have been higher if 2-3 matches did not happen.
