Paul Heyman – One Step Up
What's there to say that hasn't been said? Paul Heyman's promo this week on RAW was epic — period. Nay…exclamation point!
I'll be ready once the CM Punk talk is 100% over. I'm already fed up with it. Good luck, but good riddance. It's nothing personal against Punk — although if he doesn't come back for 'Mania, fans have a right to be upset — but his work had suffered prior to him leaving. If losing his smile is going to cause him to lose his touch, he's better off gone.
The Chicago crowd was everything we expected it would be Monday, but it could have been worse. Paul Heyman feeding into their desires and finding a way to turn it into a classic wrestling promo was genius. In fact, the entire Raw was booked very well to counteract the determined crowd.
I don't know why I even get surprised anymore at how good Paul Heyman is, but I still do. He's in my Top 10 Best Promo Guys list without batting an eyelash, but I'm to the point now where an argument could be made that he is in fact best-ever.
Flair will likely stay my #1 forever, but that's not to say that Heyman could be any better than he is. It's rather hard to go up from perfect.
