RANDY ORTON/SHEAMUS – ONE STEP UP
Sheamus and Randy Orton have established more chemistry together in a few weeks than either men have had with anyone else in the past year, combined.
That opinion might not be shared by the majority – I honestly don’t know what others think – but I’m enjoying their interaction a ton. They seem to be enjoying it, too.
They both seem to be trying harder.
Randy Orton has been suffering from what I call “RVD Syndrome” recently. That’s where a wrestler, at likely no fault of his own, starts robotically going through the motions and nothing more. No extra effort, no passion.
Orton’s move to Smackdown, his continued work with lesser talent, his absence from the top storylines – all probable reasons for his recent case of “RVD Syndrome”.
I remember when RVD fought Christian for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw in 2003. I recall thinking to myself that it seemed evident he would win the title that night. He wasn’t nonchalantly going through his move set that night. There was extra oomph added to…everything.
Randy Orton seems to have that with Sheamus right now. Maybe it’s just because he’s working with the World Champion again. He feels like that’s where he belongs. I don’t care the reason – it’s just nice to have him back.
It makes Sheamus better, also.
