WWE WrestleMania 28

WrestleZone’s Top 10: Best WrestleMania Events

Number 7: WrestleMania VIII

Ric Flair

A double main event of Hogan/Sid and Savage/Flair was billed for this WrestleMania in the Hoosier Dome in Indiana. Over 62,00 fans witnessed a fantastic  match between Savage and Flair, who were given 18 minutes to brawl for the WWE Championship. Flair and Savage knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Both men were physical with one another, timed the match perfectly, and had such great chemistry together. This was important because it really solidified Flair as a main player in the WWE, even if his tenure wasn’t as long as most wanted. Hogan and Sid was important due to Hogan trying to overcome another giant five years later. The match ended in a DQ, which irked some. If you think about the mid card matches, you could possibly remember a great bout between Hart and Piper, two men in different times in their careers. The match was perfect for this night, as they needed a younger guy facing off against one of the best heels of all time. This helped Hart gained mainstream spotlight in the company. We also had Shawn Michaels start the night off with a fast paced contest with El Salvador, as well as Undertaker battling Jake Roberts. A solid night of youth and veteran presence.
