Edge

From Chicago, this event is extremely underrated from a fan’s standpoint. Think of the moments we remember from this night. Edge solidified himself as one of the main players in the company after a brutal Hardcore Match against Mick Foley. A flaming table, in which Edge speared Foley into, was a moment I will always rewind over and over again. Seeing his back begin to bleed from the thumbtacks is something that you cannot fake. This was a great match, but others also were fantastic. Vince took some serious bumps and bruises from Shawn Michaels, including a flying elbow drop from the high ladder. Sweet Chin Music connected directly on Vince’s chin and, even though this match was basically all HBK, it made perfect sense. He was out for revenge and got it. The Money in the Bank ladder match featured RVD grabbing the briefcase over guys like Lashley, Finley, Flair, Hardy, and Benjamin. Benjamin did a great job running the ladder and making another moment in his career. Also, this was the last meaningful Diva’s match, as Trish and Mickie put on a great match that the crowd and fans actually cared about. I personally enjoyed the Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship, even though I was not excited about Rey Mysterio winning. Orton and Angle worked well together in the ring, building some chemistry without Rey being involved. The underdog story ruled the night, but Triple H vs. John Cena was a clash of monsters. A great back and forth pace, it felt like a big fight because of who they were at the time of their careers. Overall, Chicago hosted a hot WrestleMania 22, the last of the smaller crowds for this big event.
