CM Punk/ Y2J
One Step Down
I fully expect this program between CM Punk and Y2J to get better. They are too talented. But I've absolutely hated everything about it up to this point.
Chris Jericho's return was great, for one week, and then it got old. His entry into the Rumble and sebsequent loss was unnecessary and pointless. His attack on Punk Monday was lackluster and had that "too little, too late" feel to it.
I do want to say, however, that Punk's match with Daniel Bryan was incredible.
We've all been expecting Punk vs Jericho. I still believe it will be a great addition to a stacked WrestleMania card in Miama, but it needs help, and fast. Jericho has proven to be a liar and a guy that doesn't deliever on promises and expectations. Not Chris Jericho, the person – Chris Jericho, the character.
The cryptic videos will be explained, but it will probably be something simple and disappointing. His promise heading into the Rumble was a huge letdown. Then on Raw, he comes out, delivers one quick move to Punk, and leaves. Big f'n deal. It was weak.
I'm being harsh, as most fans have been since the Rumble, and we all have every right to be. WWE has teased us with "big moment" opportunities that they've either disregarded completely or failed miserably at in execution. Y2J's return, explanation (or lack thereof), and seteup with Punk have been no exception.
Come WrestleMania, I might be jumping out of my seat in anticipation for the Punk/Jericho match. Both men have the ability to turn this thing around and get me there, but right now, at this moment, they have a long way to go.
