Daniel Bryan Up
One Step Up
The heel turn is pretty much complete — all that’s left is for the fans to actually care enough to boo him more — and it was the best way to go with Daniel Bryan. The underdog babyface role wasn’t going anywhere and after they had him cash in MITB early, rather than waiting until WrestleMania like HE suggested, his word lost all credibility.
Michael Cole pointed out all the truths about DB every time he was on television and in the back of fans’ minds, I can only imagine they knew Cole was right. With Bryan turning, Cole needs to start changing his tune toward the World Champion and I didn’t hear that during the main event commentary on Friday. Cole still wasn’t giving Daniel Bryan any credit. How does that help?
The finish on Smackdown, however, was great. It solidified Bryan as a heel and kept Big Show safe. I just wonder where they go from here. Mark Henry AND Big Show can’t be challenging Bryan for too long. At some point, you have to give at least semi-clean finishes and that will kill Big Show and Mark Henrys’ credibility if Bryan goes over repeatedly.
Henry certainly can’t afford that after the year he had.
