The Cashbox: Giving Thanks, Cena Heel Turn, Vince

First and foremost, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. Be sure to spend time with those closest to you and give thanks for what you've been given. Eat way too much food and most importantly, watch my Dallas Cowboys whoop up on Kardashian's ex and the Dolphins.

"The day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night."

I'm not very religious, but this verse has always stuck with me. I simply take it to mean that we won't know when Jesus plans to make his return and call up his children. Maybe that's not what it means, but it provides me a little comfort in thinking we might make it past next year alive. Speaking of December 21st, 2012, that better be an explosive edition of Smackdown!

John CenaWhen watching the end of Survivor Series on Sunday and realizing that yet again, WWE failed to capitalize on fans' vocal hatred toward John Cena, that Bible verse came to mind. A percentage of wrestling fans – myself included – built up the idea of a Cena heel turn so much in our own minds, once again, that we were left disappointed when it didn't happen. The fact that it was NEVER going to happen didn't matter to us. We wanted it and that's that.

Vince McMahon is like God in this situation. Please, don't take this so literal and send me hate mail that I'm committing blasphemy here. It's simply a comparison to what's probably going through Vince's mind right now.

Vince is aware that people are screaming for a John Cena heel turn. He doesn't care. If it's going to happen, it will be on HIS terms. And it won't be when everyone is expecting it. For example, Cena didn't turn on The Rock at Sunday's pay per view, so most fans wouldn't have expected him to turn the following night on Raw. That would have been a perfect opportunity for Vince to do it…if HE wanted to do it.
