Number 6: Johnny Nitro vs. C.M. Punk for the vacant ECW Championship: Houston, Texas, 2007
The match will never be remembered for the great in ring ability from two up and coming superstars. A black shadow was casted over this event, as a "no-show" of ECW Champion Chris Benoit had many people questioning what happened. We would later find out Benoit died, with further details revealing a Double Murder Suicide. The horrific events that happened was the biggest story ever to come out of the WWE outside of the ring. Like it really mattered, but Johnny Nitro would capture the ECW Championship, one of his biggest shining moments to date. If you watch the match, you see great physical tools between these two competitors, but will we remember this for the match? No. In no way am I saying this was a memorable moment, because it was horrific and tragic, but it will be remembered. It is a shame that WWE cannot remember Benoit.
