Archy’s Analysis: WWE Smackdown Review (6.25.11)

ARCHY’S ANALYSIS
WWE Smackdown Review 25/6/11
By Adrian Arciuli for WrestleZone.com

Rating- 7.5/10

For the third week in a row Smackdown was a thoroughly enjoyable show with a strong focus on the progression of main storylines.

The World Heavyweight Title picture took another twist with Christian earning another shot after Captain Charisma and Mark Henry won the tag team main event. Henry completely owned the show by destroying Big Show during a backstage interview and pinning WHC Randy Orton.

His recent performances suggest that he is in line for another strong push by WWE management which is nothing we haven’t seen before.  It will be intriguing to see how the main event scene unfolds going into MITB.

Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan produced a solid 10 minute match which was a breath of fresh air on WWE TV after the 3 hour Monday Night Raw’s were devoid of longer matches.

Rhodes goes from strength to strength each week with his promos and if Orton holds onto the title at MITB, I can see Rhodes being next in line for a title shot.  Just imagine the potential in a Rhodes/Orton feud right now with the current characters the two are playing,

The Indian Connection of Jinder Mahal and The Great Khaili continue to destroy each week which has been quite effective. Mahal looks great in the ring and Khali is used perfectly as an enforcer rather than a wrestler.

Hopefully, we see the two put in a strong tag team feud in the upcoming weeks. That being said, tag team wrestling has received more emphasis in the past few weeks with The Usos having another good match with Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater.

The Haka dance was a nice touch and I see alot of potential and Jimmy and Jey.

Thank god the Zeke vs. Wade Barrett feud is done and dusted. Their latest match was once again uninspiring and let’s all hope that Barrett can move onto a program in which he can be utilised properly.

Hopefully he can get back to where he was this time last year where he was part of the hottest program WWE had to offer.

Lastly, The Johnny Curtis stuff was typical corny WWE comedy but hey at least it’s pushing a new talent.

Hope you all enjoyed my first review.
