What’s up guys!
I am still drained following last weekend’s 15th Anniversary Fan Slam Wrestling Fan Festival. There is so much work that goes into running these events. I thought the event was really cool and unique. Everything came off without a hitch. The turn-out was very disappointing though, especially considering how hard the event was pushed. I’ll be sure to get much more into detail on the convention in the upcoming days over at FanSlamWrestling.com. Overall I’d have to say it was a success.
Now let me quickly give you an idea I had.
Edge and Vickie Guerrero are in the ring about to be married. The priest asks Edge if he takes Vickie to be his wife. Edge tells Vickie that he can’t because he’s fallen in love with another woman. Vickie goes berserk crying. She asks Edge if it’s a younger woman. Edge tells her it’s actually an older woman. He introduces everyone to his new girlfriend……..LINDA MCMAHON!
Edge could put over that it was him that made the stage fall apart on top of Vince on Raw. He could say how he was trying to kill Vince so that he could have Linda all to himself. He tells Vickie he’s leaving her for Linda, and Edge and Linda start kissing to the disgust of the crowd.
Wrestling fans never saw Linda McMahon in a role like that. She’s someone that has name value but is never used on TV. She would inject some interest into the product by playing the on-air girlfriend of Edge. Having her running around dressed like a teenager and french kissing Edge every week would be something totally different then what fans are used to seeing. You can’t say that the angle is in bad taste either, because it’s no worse then having him linked to Vickie. If anything, it would turn into a weekly soap opera, which is something WWE badly needs. People watch All My Children every day because they can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next. The WWE has been missing that element for many years now.
It would also freshen up Vince’s character. I would keep him off of TV until WrestleMania next year. When he finally made his return to the WWE as a babyface going after Edge, the match would draw buys! Fans will be dying to see Vince again after not seeing him for nine months. They will be killing to see him get revenge on Edge for what he did to him and his family. Lets hope so anyway.
This angle would do two things. It would explain why the stage broke on Monday and it would further Edge’s heel character. Edge can’t stay with Vickie forever. They need a way out of it come the wedding. What better way to get more heat on Edge then he already has than by having him shack up with Linda!?!
Edge can then go around and start saying he’s Shane and Stephanie’s step father. That leads to two perfect programs for Edge right there. One would be with Shane McMahon, which is a unique program that has never been done before. Can you imagine a Edge vs. Shane McMahon TLC match? The second of course is with Triple H, who is defending his wife’s family.
The bottom line is that doing something like this would freshen up the product. I think it would be entertaining as hell seeing the weasel Edge using Linda every week, knowing that he’s only in it for the money. It’s just something different.
