“I Quit” Match For The WWE Championship: This match should more appropriately have been billed as “The Passion Of The Christ 2” Starring John Cena. While not the back-and-forth contest that I was hoping for, this was definitely a creatively booked bout as it was violent as hell at certain times. Seeing Cena cuffed to the ring post and battered until his skin was broken by the Singapore Cane was pretty brutal. Couple that with the other variations of violent offense that Orton pulled off, and it made for a really great match that told the story of one person’s “breaking point.” I am of course disappointed that Cena won the match, and I’m not sure how the title picture can move forward in a fresh way after last night, but at the end of the day it was a great outing for both Cena and Orton. My wish would be that someone new steps up to the plate to wrestle Cena for the tile, but there’s no one out there right now and Orton is going to have to have his rematch. I guess we’re stuck with this for a little while longer. 8.5 Stars.
