As I said in the Good category, I liked that the main event players on Raw hyped the Rumble match by announcing that they would be participating in it, but at the same time the segment begged the question, "why wouldn’t they be in the Rumble match?" The Royal Rumble match winner receives an automatic ticket to a title shot at WrestleMania, so why would anyone be surprised that ANY member of the Raw roster would want to be in the match?
Additionally, whatever happened to qualifying matches? So far this year, all participants of The Rumble match have simply announced that they will be in the match. So what happens then if every non-title holder in WWE decides they want to be in the match? There should have been some governing force that announced who would and who would not be involved in the Rumble match, because it seems odd otherwise.
I really didn’t like the way the Orton/Sheamus feud played out on Raw last night. Up to this point, the feud feels much more like an Intercontinental Title program as opposed to what should be the main feud on Raw each week. And the reason why? That’s simple. Because John Cena isn’t involved in it. Having Cena and Sheamus beat up on two under card guys who consistently lose matches on Raw does absolutely nothing to strengthen them or the feud between them. Instead, it gives each one of them 5 minutes of meaningless TV time and ends up with them in the same place they were in when the show started.
