Backstage With Ted DiBiase
Backstage we see Ted DiBiase complaining that Goldust stole something that was his family heirloom. He vows to get it back tonight.
Ted DiBiase (w/ Maryse) vs. Goldust (w/ Aksana)
DiBiase is controlling things early. Goldust starts to take over as the match-pace picks up a bit. Goldust hits a bulldog for a nearfall. Goldust climbs to the top and leaps off at DiBiase, but DiBiase catches him coming down with a dropkick. Goldust hits a powerslam for a nearfall. DiBiase with a spinebuster for a nearfall. Meanwhile, outside the ring, Maryse beats up Aksana. Aksana is crying in the ring. Goldust checks on her, which allows DiBiase to score the victory.
Winner: Ted DiBiase
Nick’s Note: Again, a fun match and I have been enjoying the Goldust/Ted DiBiase sub-plot that has been developing on Raw. But why not advertise this match? If WWE is trying to tell us that guys like Goldust, Ted DiBiase, Daniel Bryan, David Otunga and Dolph Ziggler aren’t big enough to make anyone buy a PPV, then why are they featured on Raw every week? I’m sure WWE would see that we care a lot more if some creativity and advertising is put into these bouts/stories.
After The Match:
Aksana knocks Maryse down after the match. She grabs the belt. DiBiase approaches her and she seduces him. DiBiase falls for it, allowing Goldust to hit him with the Final Cut.
Michelle McCool and Layla come to the ring. They bad mouth Minnesota. They mock the Brett Farve text-messaging stuff.
Nick’s Note: Honestly, I would rather get dick-pic text messages from Brett Favre than listen to LayCool on the mic. They are dreadful, and not in the way WWE wants them to be.
