Triple H has created a legendary legacy for himself both in and outside the squared circle. The Game has been a major part of this industry for decades now. He was, at one point, the biggest heel in WWE so much so that his character work turned Vince McMahon into a fan favorite.
Hunter has also been part of some of the greatest matches at WrestleMania. The Cerebral Assassin is among a handful of superstars with most WrestleMania matches to his name. He’s headlined the grand spectacle multiple times as well.

Vs. John Cena (WrestleMania 22)
WrestleMania 22 featured one of the coolest Triple H entrances. Hunter arrived to the ring on a throne as Motorhead’s rendition of his theme played in the background. Fans at the Allstate Arena bowed to the King of Kings as he arrived to compete for the WWE Championship.
The crowd chanted relentlessly for Triple H even though he entered the match as the heel. Even the commentary had no choice but to acknowledge the polarizing reception to John Cena that night. Still, Big Match John would emerge Victorious over the Cerebral Assassin.
Triple H & Stephanie McMahon vs. Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey (WrestleMania 34)
Ronda Rousey couldn’t have asked for a better tag team partner than Kurt Angle and better foes than Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The Baddest Woman on the Planet made her in-ring debut in convincing fashion at WrestleMania 34.
All four competitors put on a strong performance on an otherwise underwhelming show. Triple H and Stephanie acted as the perfect foil to the babyface duo of Ronda and Angle, who’d go on to defeat the heel duo.
Vs. Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania XXX)
Triple H shocked the world with his heel turn on Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam 2013. The Game would spend the next months screwing Danielson out of big matches and moments. All this hostility led to a match between the duo at WrestleMania XXX.
Not only was this a great physical match-up, it ended up being one of the greatest WrestleMania opening matches of all time. Both men tried to tear each other apart. Stephanie McMahon’s intervention added so much to the in-ring action.
In the end, the Dragon prevailed over the Cerebral Assassin to punch his ticket to the main event match between Batista and Randy Orton.
Vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania 28)
The tagline “End of an Era” really does justice to the match considering it would be the last singles meeting between Triple H and The Undertaker. Both men stole the show at WrestleMania 27 in an excellent No Holds Barred Match.
The Hell in a Cell outing turned to be even more brutal and barbaric than their encounter from the year prior. Shawn Michaels’ involvement added to the drama and emotions. The Heartbreak did a great job as the Special Guest Referee tore between his emotions.
Triple H being unable to get up after the match served as a symbolic callback to Taker’s condition from post-WrestleMania 27 outing.
Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit (WrestleMania XXX)
Chris Benoit’s name is still a polarizing subject in pro wrestling circles, and rightfully so. However, when you look at things from a pure in-ring context, this just might be the greatest triple threat match in company history.
Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Benoit deserve all the great for bringing the crowd to life after the stinker of a match that was Brock Lesnar versus Goldberg. All three men put on a match for the ages.
From Hunter’s excellent character work and amazing psychology to Shawn Michaels’ fearless fortitude to Benoit’s career-defining performance, the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania XX over-delivered in many ways.
