The Universal Championship is only three years old. While the time has flown by, it doesn’t have a history rich enough to compare it to the World titles of the past and present. The championship has essentially been held most of the time by one man – Brock Lesnar – who has three reigns with it as a whole.
Either way, given that a part-timer has held it for the majority of its existence, that means that title defenses have been far and few in between. While some would probably say that it’s a good thing because it’s made the title feel special, the reality is that not having the title on weekly TV hasn’t helped RAW get any better.
