AJ Styles has been dubbed by WWE as the greatest in-ring performer of this generation, with commentators stating that he is the greatest in-ring worker that the WWE has seen since Michaels. In many ways, this is true and even though their offense is different, fans and WWE alike couldn’t stop with the comparisons between the two.
WWE clearly saw something with the two because they called Michaels back to face AJ Styles at a later point in WrestleMania, something that Styles had teased himself with a fan-made poster pitting the two face-to-face. AJ Styles is considered by WWE to be the closest successor to The Heartbreak Kid.
