Michael Elgin has best been described as a “specimen”. In a way, he really is because his style of wrestling makes him seem like a much bigger person. Traditionally a powerhouse, Elgin felt that one aspect of his in-ring style wasn’t enough and developed a more versatile style of wrestling.
Not only is he strong, but he’s deceptively agile and his psychology in the ring is really good. Time and again, he has been a victim to the style of wrestling where it purely looks like two competitors are trying to perform rather than trying to legitimately fight each other. However, that doesn’t take away from all his strengths when it comes to his in-ring ability.
He really created a mark of his own in Japan and whichever promotion he’s been a part of, he’s proved to be one of the most valuable assets they have. Elgin is a World Championship-level performer wherever he goes and is bound to succeed as well. He’s had several modern wrestling classics and we rank the five best ones.
