#4.) To revive the brand split
It’s no secret. WWE completely killed off the brand split with the “Wild Card” rule. While it’s constantly praised on-screen, it’s constantly criticized off it. What’s been abundantly clear is that the Wild Card rule has made several other superstars sit on the sidelines while WWE decides to recycle the same set of superstars on both brands.
Roman Reigns, for example, appears more on RAW than he does on SmackDown, despite being a SmackDown star. Now RAW stars even challenge for SmackDown titles, which essentially means that WWE lost interest in the brand split.
Perhaps by hiring Bischoff and Heyman as executive directors, it could be a move to help revive the brand split. Hopefully, the Wild Card rule will be done away with soon.
