Brock Lesnar was expected to leave WWE after WrestleMania 35, this time, for good. The belief was that he was preparing for a UFC Heavyweight Championship fight against Daniel Cormier. The plans were all set in place and every indication led fans to believe that was Lesnar’s future.
He did have a two-minute match at WrestleMania, taking essentially no damage. Plus, the MMA rumor mill was abuzz about UFC potentially having a Madison Square Garden show featuring Lesnar as the headliner. Lesnar, too, was all but ready to sign a contract, but they couldn’t come to an agreement on price because of UFC’s deal with ESPN and ESPN+.
Brock Lesnar, upon his own admission, said that he only signs short-term contracts because it gives him leverage when he negotiates deals with UFC and WWE. Lesnar is a good businessman and now that he’s expected to return to WWE, there are quite a few things WWE should and shouldn’t do with The Beast Incarnate.
