NXT Takeover has been a part of WrestleMania weekend since 2016. NXT Takeover: Dallas in 2016 actually marked the beginning of the end for NXT Takeover shows in Full Sail University. Post-Dallas, there would only be one Takeover show in the original taping venue in Orlando, with the yellow brand never looking back.
Either way, for three straight years, NXT Takeover has been one of the staples of WrestleMania weekend, sometimes even kicking off the festivities. The best part about it is that with its simple format, shorter shows, and incredibly consistent match quality, Takeover has always outdone WrestleMania from a critical standpoint.
