WrestleMania weekend is approaching, which means that not only is there The Show of Shows to look forward to, but one of the biggest parts of WrestleMania weekend is NXT Takeover, as it’s usually the event that kicks off the festivities. More often than not, NXT Takeover has even managed to receive far more critical acclaim than its main roster counterpart, something that just seems to be a regular thing now.
With Tommaso Ciampa suffering a devastating injury that forced him to vacate the NXT Championship (or Goldie, as he preciously called it), he’s set to be out for months, and his planned match against Johnny Gargano won’t be taking place. While that is understandably disappointing, there’s no doubt that you can have faith in NXT to salvage the situation, because they have a more-than-impressive main event in Gargano vs Adam Cole (in a 2-out-of-3-falls match).
The rest of the card is stacked too, and apart from just one of the best shows of the year, here’s what you can expect for NXT Takeover: New York.
