#5.) Overall length and pacing
When NXT has to precede one of the Big 5 PPVs, it’s understandable why fans lean towards the yellow brand. For one, four of the five PPVs have expanded in length nearly two-fold since 2015. Now, we have Big 4 PPVs that last for upwards 5 hours, while an NXT Takeover doesn’t usually exceed more than 2 and a half.
Moreover, it’s much easier not to get burned out watching Takeovers, as the pacing of the show is done right, the matches are structured well and you’re simply able to take it in much easier as compared to PPVs on the main roster, where you’ll have three consecutive good matches then a couple of duds, which are placed intentionally to give the crowd a break.
