We’ve seen Cesaro as a singles star before. In 2014-16, his stock had risen significantly. In 2014, he won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and was even briefly paired up with Paul Heyman. He had a US title run, but it was 2015 where fans really began to see the potential that Cesaro has.
It was in his open challenge matches with John Cena that opened the eyes of the WWE Universe. It became clear that he’s a freak athlete and can go with the very best in the ring. This was also the period when fans on Twitter started posting “#PushCesaro”. Though his singles run never reached its full potential, he’s fit and will likely have many years ahead of him in WWE.
Once his sting with The Bar is over, he can fulfill his potential as a singles star.
