Tag teams have always played an important role in not just WWE, but all of wrestling. The history of tag team wrestling goes back a long way, and it’s been a tradition ever since. Plus, there are a lot of benefits to it too. The psychology of tag team wrestling is entirely different to that of singles.
While fans may think that the regular formula of tag team wrestling is when the babyface sells until getting the hot tag, there’s a lot more to it than we think. Moreover, the last few years have seen the rise of relatively younger and newer tag teams, most of whom have stepped up their game and evolved tag team wrestling into something completely different.
There are many teams whose psychology is so good, that being in a tag team is their best position on the card. It’s possible that for a variety of circumstances, they won’t necessarily succeed as a singles star. But then there are also teams that have members where singles potential is clearly seen.
