The Bar is the very definition of an “odd pairing” tag team. Despite WWE doing odd pairings before, there have been few times where the storylines have worked better than they did with Sheamus and Cesaro!
The two were in creative limbo around 2016, with Cesaro unsuccessfully challenging for the Intercontinental Championship, while Sheamus was vocally frustrated about creative having nothing for him. Thankfully, it all worked out, as Cesaro and Sheamus began feuding with each other. Then-RAW GM Mick Foley put them in a Best Of 7 Series against each other, promising the winner a title shot (without specifying which title).
After their final match ended in a draw, Foley forcibly put them together and gave them a tag team title opportunity. They never looked back since. It’s crazy to think of how well they adapted into the tag team division, and are now among the top 3 tag teams in the company. They’ve had some incredible moments in the last few years, and we take a look at the very best ones.
