#1.) The first and only gaijin (foreign) GHC Heavyweight Champion
The GHC Heavyweight Championship belongs to a prestigious line of wrestlers, starting with one of the greatest of all time, Mitsuharu Misawa. Edwards had a chance to capture the title against then-champion Katsuhiko Nakajima, who was on a good run (though his character was admittedly a little stale) as champion.
Edwards would make history by beating Nakajima and becoming the first-ever gaijin GHC Heavyweight Champion. He joined the lineage of an elite list of wrestlers, making his mark on Japanese wrestling history forever. It was truly one of the crowning accomplishments of his career.
