After an unsuccessful attempt to dethrone The Authors of Pain and recapture the NXT Tag Team Championship, Gargano and Ciampa were distraught and the crowd was chanting “DIY”, cheering them on in defeat. It seemed for a moment like it was going to be the end of their NXT run and they were headed to the main roster. But in one quick moment, everything changed.
Ciampa slammed Gargano against the LED lights and changed the landscape of NXT. He would become the most hated man in wrestling for attacking the most beloved superstar in NXT. It was a career-defining moment for the Psycho Killer.
