After the match, Candice LeRae was helping her husband Johnny Gargano to the back. As they were soaking in the crowd’s cheers, it seemed like the show would end, but Ciampa walked out and struck Johnny Gargano in the back, officially making his return from injury.
Ciampa received a chorus of boos and the crutch he struck Gargano with would be a major instrument in the story of their rivalry.
