At No Mercy 2016, Dolph Ziggler put his career on the line for one more shot at the Intercontinental Championship. Faced with tremendous odds, the crowd rallied behind The Show-Off. The career vs title stipulation enhanced the feud to a whole new level and the stakes could not have gotten any higher.
The two put on a Match Of The Year Candidate and the crowd were on their feet for almost the entire bout. Despite interference from Maryse and The Spirit Squad, Dolph Ziggler showed his ‘never say die’ attitude. A skull-crushing finale made it seem like Ziggler’s career was over but he kicked out to a huge ovation.
The roar in the crowd when he pinned The Miz was nothing short of bone-chilling. It’s a moment that very few will forget. It’s not often that you see such electricity run through the crowd.
