Je’Von Evans is praying for the best, and hopefully that includes a match with one of his heroes in pro wrestling.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard spoke with Je’Von Evans, current star on WWE’s NXT brand. Evans is coming off an impressive performance at NXT Stand & Deliver in Las Vegas, and also spoke to the media about his admiration for Jeff Hardy.
Evans explained what made Hardy stand out to him as a fan. He said Jeff Hardy inspired him to be a high-flyer if he were to ever become a pro wrestler.
“Bro, the stuff he [Jeff Hardy] was doing, he’d be jumping off the craziest stuff. He wasn’t doing anything that anybody was doing or willing to do. I think that really caught my eye,” Je’Von Evans explained. “And made me like, really decide like, ‘Dang, man, if I ever fight, I’m flying.’ You got to put me on. He put me on fo sho.”
Je’Von Evans wants a chance to compete against Jeff Hardy
The ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA has resulted in several crossover opportunities that didn’t seem possible just a few years ago. Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry have benefited greatly from the new exposure, while others like Arianna Grace and Tatum Paxley have gotten more exposure by appearing on both shows.
Je’Von Evans was asked if he’s still angling for a match with Hardy, who is currently under TNA contract. Evans said he’s hoping for the best, and hopes that includes him being a contracted WWE Superstar against Jeff Hardy one day.
“Man, I’m just going to be praying for the best. You know what I mean? I think if any opportunity comes up to where I can still get in the ring with Jeff Hardy and still be contracted to WWE, I think I’m winning. You know what I mean? Straight like that.”
