Willow Nightingale earns a shot at the TBS Championship. Hikaru Shida vs. Athena is announced for ROH Supercard of Honor. Brooke Valentine chats with WrestleZone, and more. Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!
Willow Nightingale Earns TBS Title Shot
With the Dynasty pay-per-view less than a month away, AEW has confirmed a pair of new matches for its card. In addition to an AEW World Championship rematch between Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland, AEW recently announced that TBS Champion Julia Hart will be defending her title at Dynasty. As such, the stage was set for a four-way number one contenders match. The winner of this contest would then earn the right to challenge Hart at the April 21 event.
On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Skye Blue, Anna Jay, Kris Statlander, and Willow Nightingale battled in that competitive four-way match while Mercedes Moné delivered special guest commentary.
Despite a valiant effort from all four performers, only one could claim the victory. And after nailing Anna Jay with a Dangerous Babe Bomb, that distinction belonged to Willow Nightingale. Unfortunately for Nightingale, her post-match celebration was quickly interrupted by an attack from TBS Champion Julia Hart, who proceeded to lock eyes with Mercedes Moné as well.
With this win, Nightingale will now move on to face Hart for the TBS Championship at the upcoming AEW Dynasty event. This title match will mark the third meeting between Nightingale and Hart, as the two previously squared off in 2023. In both instances, Hart clutched the victory.
Can Nightingale change her fate against Hart? Or will history repeat itself? That answer will officially reveal itself at AEW Dynasty.
AEW Dynasty will emanate from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.

Hikaru Shida vs. Athena Announced For ROH Supercard Of Honor
Athena‘s history-making ROH Women’s Championship reign will meet its next challenge as she faces Hikaru Shida at ROH’s biggest event of the year.
During the March 14th episode of ROH on HonorClub, Athena defeated Aisha (The WOAD) in a “Proving Ground” match. Despite her victory, Athena still wasn’t satisfied.
In a post-match promo, Athena called out the ROH women’s locker room, demanding that they bring tougher competition. In response, Athena was approached by former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida, who signaled her interest in challenging Athena by pointing her kendo stick at the ROH Women’s Championship. As such, Athena is now scheduled to defend her title against Shida at ROH Supercard of Honor on April 5.
ROH Supercard of Honor will mark the second singles match between Shida and Athena. The last meeting took place under the banner of SHIMMER in 2014, where Shida emerged victorious.
As of now, Athena’s reign as ROH Women’s Champion stands at 474 days. Should she defeat Shida at Supercard of Honor, it will likely extend past the whopping 500 days.
Elsewhere on the ROH Supercard of Honor card, Billie Starkz will take on Queen Aminata. There, the two will vie for the newly-minted ROH Women’s TV Championship.
