Steve Maclin hopes that Indiana Jones has a reunion with Short Round in the Dial of Destiny later this month.
IMPACT and Wrestling Revolver World Champion Steve Maclin recently sat down with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the upcoming Indiana Jones-themed Wrestling Revolver show, The Ring of Destiny, Maclin revealed he’s a big fan of the film franchise that inspired Revolver’s next event.
“I am, yes. I’m very much looking forward to it. I’m trying to stay away from the reviews because people are burying it, which I’m just like, whatever. I’ll wait till I see it myself,” Steve Maclin said. “I still love Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
“I thought it was good, except for the ending that was just like ‘eh,’ but, the whole build-up and the son with Shia LaBeouf there, I was like, ‘Okay, cool. We’re on to something.’ But we’ll see how it goes. I love anything Indiana Jones. Hopefully, they have a Short Round reunion in there somewhere. Probably not, though.”
When asked how it feels to build his profile away from IMPACT Wrestling as the Wrestling Revolver World Champion, Steve Maclin said it’s awesome and puts over the independent company that’s mainly run in Ohio and Iowa by Sami Callihan.
“It’s awesome. From the Dayton shows and then even in Iowa, they got a show coming up in Texas in July, and they’re just starting to get out there,” Steve Maclin said. “And Pro Wrestling Revolver lives on ‘for our generation, by our generation.’ it’s just a great independent company, and it doesn’t feel like an independent company because they’re so professional with their production style, their setup, the crowds that they draw.
“It’s just insane for the amount of people and the fans that are there. They love pro wrestling, and it’s just a cool thing to be a part of and especially to represent them as their world champion. It’s a lot of fun and got me and Jake Crist are coming up at the Ring of Destiny, which I’m looking forward to because he’s a hometown guy, so the crowd should be pretty hot for that one.
“He’s a guy that I’ve been watching for a long time that I would like to work with, even when I stepped into the door at Revolver. That’s a guy I’ve been wanting to work with, so I’m very much looking forward to that match.”
Wrestling Revolver’s Ring Of Destiny takes place on June 17, while Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theatres on June 30.
