LA Knight is one of the fastest-rising stars in WWE. Ever since making his main roster debut, the self-proclaimed Megastar garnered a lot of popularity. After ditching the Max Dupri gimmick, the fans all got behind him. While Dominik Mysterio gets the loudest boos, Knight gets the most deafening pops.
During his recent interview with Josh Martinez of iHeart Radio, Knight discussed what he does differently to garner fans’ support.
“Nothing. I’m doing nothing different. Literally being the same trash-talking, wanna fight kinda like no-nonsense, no-BS guy I think I’ve always been. Well, I say no-nonsense but… And people are going to point out, ‘well… you do say kind of… little bits of funny things and stuff like that.’
“Sure I do. But, I always get back to the point. I don’t dwell in the comedy… And I feel like a lot of guys have gotten lost in that, in this business over the last five, six, seven, maybe even 10 years, where it’s all become kind of silly fun and games. And for me it’s like, I’m not trying to be fun and games,” LA Knight said.
A little splash of humor
Knight also mentioned his goal is to be the top star in the industry.
“I might splash in a little bit of humor here and there, but then I’m going to turn the corner and be deadly serious. Because for me, I want to be in the top of the industry. I don’t want to be a guy who’s just hanging out here. For that, you got to be serious about the whole thing. So for me, I’m looking for that WWE Championship, which is what we’re headed to very soon. And in order to that you cannot be a silly goofy guy.”
