Asuka Continues To Roll
The NXT Women’s Champion, fresh off her victory over Mickie James at NXT Takeover: Toronto did battle with Nichole Matthews. Much like all of her matches outside of NXT special events, Asuka picks up a relatively easy win, in under four minutes. As Asuka continues to dominate, there is still such a huge gap of talent between her and everyone else. Do we really know if ANYONE on the NXT roster can compete with her and be a viable threat? If anything, Ember Moon would be the closest, but I am not sure they want to push her this quickly. From her debut in the summer to now, she has not done much to really capture the attention on a consistent basis with the audience. This is going to continue to be a problem as the months go on, unless something drastic happens in someone’s character development.
Eric Young defeated No Way Jose
The leader of Sanity did battle with Jose on NXT. Jose actually has the upper hand, as he punches Young on the outside and to the ground. Wolfe tries to attack Jose from behind., but gets kicked in the face. Young grabs him and plants him with a vicious neck breaker from the top rope. Young stomps Jose in the corner and begins to slow the pace with a dragon sleeper. No Way Jose gets to his feet and hits a jawbreaker to break the hold. Jose lands a few punches and gets riled up with a neckbreaker and clothesline combination. Jose hits the pop-up knockout punch. He goes for the cover but Nikki Cross distracts the Referee. Young hits the wheelbarrow neck breaker for the win.
Nice heel tactics from Sanity tonight on NXT, as all members got their hands in the pot of Eric Young’s win. A team like this is built on aiding their partners, but never overshadowing what they can do in the ring. Eric Young has always been a constant pro in the ring, with a strong yet surprising skill set. No Way Jose is always going to be fun and enjoyed by the crowd. His attitude is infection. Sanity MUST be built on dominance by picking up heelish wins.
