The highly anticipated reunion between Cody Rhodes and Stephen Amell, who faced off at WWE SummerSlam 2015, is just around the corner. We now have a full plot synopsis for Cody’s guest appearance on the fifth season of hit CW series Arrow, where he’ll be playing the foil to Amell’s titular superhero, Green Arrow.
WWE STAR CODY RHODES BRINGS THE SMACKDOWN TO STAR CITY — Now that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has his new team, they are ready to hit the streets but Oliver doesn’t feel they are ready. Headstrong Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) defies the Green Arrow’s orders and sets out on his own after a new drug dealer, Garret Runnels (guest star Cody Rhodes), who is terrorizing Star City. Runnels proves more powerful than Wild Dog and it is up to the Green Arrow to go head to head with Runnels to save his teammate. On a fun note, Cody’s character Garrett Runnels is a play off his own full name – Cody Garrett Runnels. It is of course also the last name that has graced WWE television on four separate occasions, including the Hall of Famer “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Cody, Goldust and former manager Terri Runnels.
