As we have been reporting, the success of “Guardians of the Galaxy” has cast a lot of doubt on Batista’s future in pro wrestling.
According to PWInsider.com, Marvel Studios is currently restructuring Batista’s contract which will likely see him earn a lot more money based on the success of the first “Guardians” film. It will also lock Batista in for roles in the sequel to “Guardians” as well as the third “Avengers” movie. The second “Avengers” movie is not scheduled to be released until May of 2015, so the third installment is still years away.
All of the above is simply in regards to Batista’s future with Marvel Studios, as he also has plenty of other offers coming in for projects outside of the Marvel world.
As for Batista’s future in WWE, he does want to return, but his people in Hollywood do not want to see him return to pro wrestling as they feel he didn’t get what he deserved when he returned to WWE this year. They feel WWE dropped the ball with Batista’s return, and did not allow him to use enough of his own ideas to help get himself over. Negotiations between Batista and WWE are ongoing, but it should be noted WWE will always be second to Batista’s movie career.
