Kurt Angle as not happy backstage at the SmackDown! house show last night. The entire thing stemmed from the incident during the Tough Enough segment on SmackDown! this past Thursday. We’ve been told his mood was pretty much just ticked that he was put in a situation like that.
As most everyone knows, the Tough Enough contest is totally unscripted and Angle was nearly tapped out Thursday on SmackDown!. The referee quickly counted a three count although Angle’s shoulders were not on the mat. While there have been some people backstage who are not necessarily ‘fans’ of Angle and his presence backstage, the general feeling is that the current WWE workers shouldn’t be put in situations like these. The phrase “the business is a work for a reason” has been repeated to us a lot over the last few days.
Just to confirm our report yesterday, the rumors about WWE not paying for wrestler surgeries is completely false. Some feel the rumor was actually made-up by a TNA representative in hopes that WWE workers would think that TNA is another option to WWE if things keep going downhill.
