Update On WWE Creative Team, Heyman News, Mick Foley; & More

As we noted on the site a week ago, Paul Heyman’s bio has been removed from the “Superstars” section of the SmackDown brand on WWE.com. Since then, he no longer travels with the SmackDown crew and his current involvement with the writing team is still uncertain. Some feel that this move by WWE to remove Heyman from TV is a way for them to write him in later and return as part of the planned ECW pay per view event in June in New York. However, this is a strong rumor at this point and could turn out to be nothing in the end. Many feel that unless Heyman and WWE have worked out their differences over the last week or so, it is highly likely he is still on bad terms with them.

The WWE creative team has been restructured after Tom Chehak took over as managing editor. The RAW and SmackDown brands technically are separate groups, they work together on a regular basis. Brian Gerwitz heads RAW and David Lagana heads the SmackDown Team. Gerwitz appears to be the head of the writers though, as Lagana turns in his work to Chehak, and Gerwitz then looks Lagana’s work over.

Mick Foley recently appeared on the Air America radio show for two days. He talked more about politics and war than wrestling, though he did mention he liked the recent Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari angle.
