Nikki Bella Reveals Return Timeframe From Ankle Injury

WWE‘s Nikki Bella reveals a possible timeframe for her return to in-ring action from ankle injury.

WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella suffered an ankle injury during the Bella Twins’ match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on the March 27 episode of SmackDown. A returning Paige replaced her in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42, and following the event, Bella revealed that she had surgery two weeks prior.

Nikki Bella previously stated that she hopes to be back in six to eight weeks. Now, speaking on Sirius XM’s The Nikki & Brie Show, she noted that she’s hopeful to return in June. She pointed out that WWE recently announced the Night of Champions PLE for June 27. So she’s optimistic of returning in time for the event, if it goes forward, alluding to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

“Hopefully I will get to see you all in June. They just announced Night of Champions is gonna be happening in June as of now,” Nikki said. “So fingers crossed that still goes, but obviously, I would love to see you all there.”

Nikki Bella shared updates on her recovery process

In the meantime, Nikki Bella revealed that trainers have cleared her for light training, including riding her bike for cardio and some basic lifts.

“We’re doing all the great things, we’re doing Rolfing therapy. I start back, and it’s great with my trainer next week because she’s like, ‘Hey, we could be lifting our arms and our core.’ And my trainer even was telling me I could start riding the bike because I don’t want my cardio to go down. And then they’re starting some lifts I can do next week, which is crazy,” Nikki Bella said.

“I will say broken ankles trip me out because you get the screw in there, right? You have the plates, and you have all the wires to hold your ligaments together, and it’s like you can do things carefully, and this has been the biggest trip. But then you have to make sure your leg’s up and resting,” Nikki Bella said.

“Just even being in therapy last night, I’m just like, ‘The bones are broken, but we can function.’ And the importance of functioning, I just realized, even the importance of doing the bike. For some of you who do not like cardio, if you can get on the bike for 10 minutes a day, what they were saying about heart flow and what that does to your body, it’s incredible,” Nikki Bella said.
