Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are finally back in AEW, and they have revenge on their minds.
FTR won a bloody battle, retaining their titles against the Young Bucks in the opening match of AEW Revolution. FTR’s celebration was cut short, however, as the lights went out in the arena. “Evenge” appeared on the entrance screens before a familiar block R faded in, spelling “Revenge” as Adam Copeland made his way to the ring.
As he walked down the ramp, Christian snuck in the ring and hit a Killswitch on FTR’s Dax Harwood. Cope then ran in and hit a spear on Cash Wheeler. Stokely was left alone in the ring, so he shook Christian’s hand as a peace offering and ate a Killswitch instead.
Stoke gets thrown out of the ring and Cope and Christian raise the AEW Tag Team Championships in the air as a holy sh*t chant breaks out. The Young Bucks then meet Cope and Christian in the middle of the ring, but only have a brief staredown. The two leave the belts on the mat as FTR and Stoke pick themselves up off of the ground. FTR backs up the stage, while Stokely hilariously has a crew member carry him backstage.
Where has Adam Copeland been?
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage had been missing from AEW programming since September 2025. His last appearance was at AEW All Out, where he teamed with Christian Cage to defeat FTR. However, the celebration was short-lived, as FTR attacked Copeland’s wife, Beth Copeland, while Adam Copeland was handcuffed to the ropes. Copeland later stepped away from AEW TV by telling Christian Cage that he needed to go home and take care of his family.
However, Copeland’s absence was due to his Hollywood commitments. He worked on the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the movie The Beekeeper 2.
During a recent WrestleVotes Q&A session (via Fightful Select), it was reported that Copeland was expected to return in time for AEW Double or Nothing 2026. That event is set to take place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens on May 24, 2026.
