After weeks of guessing about the mysterious crate that first showed up on the February 16 episode of WWE RAW, fans finally got their answer at Elimination Chamber 2026. The person inside was Danhausen.
At Elimination Chamber, WWE GMs Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis opened the crate. Inside was a wooden coffin. Danhausen stepped out with dancers in face paint. He walked to the ring, gave Michael Cole a jar of teeth, and joined the dancers. Then the lights went out, and he was gone.
The fans had mixed reactions. Social media has been just as divided, with many fans not liking the presentation and debut.
Danhausen Expected on WWE RAW After Elimination Chamber Debut
According to Fightful Select, Danhausen has officially signed with WWE and is set to appear on RAW this week. This will be his first appearance since the surprise reveal.
The report says Danhausen’s contract with AEW ended on February 28, the same day he debuted from the crate. So there was no overlap between companies.
The report says that Danhausen was always meant to be the one inside the crate from the start. However, not everyone backstage reportedly agreed with signing him, but that’s common with new hires. WWE expects him to keep his current name and unique gimmick, though some ideas about possible changes were mooted.
Danhausen has confirmed his appearance on RAW this week, and he might show up on different WWE brands in the future. There are talks that he might appear in AAA if needed. Meanwhile, independent promoters and convention organizers are preparing to cancel upcoming bookings now that he is under a WWE contract.
