AJ Lee is set for one of the biggest matches of her comeback run at Elimination Chamber 2026. Nevertheless, she already has her eyes on another potential showdown down the line.
In a recent ESPN Instagram reel promoting the February 28 event in Chicago, Lee was asked about a dream opponent from today’s roster.
While her focus remains on Becky Lynch and the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Lee didn’t hesitate to name a familiar face.
AJ Lee Names Bayley As Her Dream Opponent
“My dream match would be Bayley,” Lee said. “I think I got to have one match with her way back in the day when I had the Diva’s Title, so it’ll be really cool to see who we are now and get my hands on her in the ring.”
Lee’s comments nod to their brief in-ring history during her original WWE run. At the time, Lee was the Divas Champion and Bayley was still developing into the multi-time titleholder fans know today. A rematch in 2026 would present a full-circle moment — same names, very different eras.
For now, though, Lee’s immediate battle is with Lynch. The rivalry reignited in September 2025 when Lee returned to aid CM Punk against Lynch and Seth Rollins. Since then, Lee has forced Lynch to submit in WarGames, cost her the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in November, and officially challenged her on the February 9 episode of Raw.
Lynch reclaimed the title on January 5 during the Raw on Netflix anniversary special and currently holds the record for the longest reign at 163 days. She has vowed to “retire” Lee in Chicago, adding personal stakes to an already heated feud.
If Lee captures gold at Elimination Chamber, a future clash with Bayley could move from dream match to must-see match. For now, though, one fight stands in her way — and it’s anything but a daydream.
