Bronson Reed Injury Leads To Big Changes To WWE RAW Angle — Report

Bronson Reed went down on WWE RAW with an injury. The unfortunate setback also led to some big changes in the match he couldn’t finish.

Reed was competing in an Elimination Chamber qualifying triple threat match on the February 23 episode of WWE RAW. During the match, which also featured Jey Uso and the “Original” El Grande Americano (Chad Gable), Reed suffered an apparent injury to his right bicep. Reed rolled outside and didn’t finish the match. Michael Cole later confirmed that Reed sustained a distal biceps tear that would sideline him indefinitely.

WWE had planned for Reed to win the match, with PWInsider.com reporting that WWE sent Reed for surgery. WWE officials will have to rework their plans, as Reed had been factored into plans for both the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 42.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select), WWE also had to make big changes for an angle on Monday night’s show too. The outlet noted that Jey Uso declared the new winner on the fly. In addition, WWE also had to adjust plans for the ongoing masked man angle.

WrestleVotes Radio reported that the masked man and Logan Paul were scheduled to be involved in the finish of the match. However, Reed’s injury will mean the masked man angle will “likely undergo heavy rewrites.”

A WWE Hall of Famer recently criticized Jey Uso for looking sad after winning the Elimination Chamber qualifying match. During the criticism, he explained that Uso should have kept his emotions in check and stayed in character.
