Booker T faced a social media backlash last week over a misheard comment during WWE NXT.
Last week on WWE NXT featured a big segment with several main roster stars, where Fatal Influence was confronted by Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and Tiffany Stratton. While calling the action, Booker T showed his excitement for the rising stars. Booker mentioned that he “gotta pop his neck.” However, some fans misheard the comment and spread a false version online, claiming it sounded like something that was definitely not safe for work.
The WWE Hall of Famer always expresses his excitement during commentary. Last week, he said, “I gotta pop my neck, man”. Some fans on social media misheard the comment, stating that he said, “I gotta pop my d**k, man.” However, many quickly clarified that he had actually said “neck” and not the inappropriate term.
On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed the situation, “Pop it? No, I refrained. I didn’t want that to blow up on me again. People trying to make up stories and trying to cancel me. I really don’t know why people want to cancel me. I’m a man of great talent and living my best life.” [ewrestlingnews]
